Minnesota Election Laws

Pursuant to the requirements of Minnesota Statutes section 204B.27, subdivision 2 the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office has prepared and made available a PDF version of the 2020 Minnesota Election Statutes, Rules and Annotations on the Secretary of State’s web site located at:  https://www.sos.state.mn.us/media/2304/minnesota-election-laws-statutes-and-rules.pdf
These statutes are updated as of June 29, 2020.  The PDF version is printer friendly and contains a Table of Contents that you can use to go to the particular location within the document you want.  If you hold the “Control” key down and then click on the particular section, you will go directly to that section.

Note:Proposed rules governing the presidential nominating primary and amended rules governing election administration, voter registration, petitions, absentee ballots, the election judge training program and ballot preparation are in the process of being finalized. They are expected to be finalized in the fall of 2020. Once finalized, an updated listing of the rules will be found at the Election Laws webpage (https://www.sos.state.mn.us/media/2304/minnesota-election-laws-statutes-and-rules.pdf
